Overview for BURS
When?
Saturday, April 11, 2009.
Where?
The new Northwest Science Building on Harvard University's main campus. This newly completed building is a modern science building which features two large lecture halls, several conference rooms and a spacious atrium. Conveniently located next to the Harvard Museum of Natural History, it is a 10-minute walk from the Harvard T stop on the Red Line.
Who?
Colleges on board include Harvard, MIT, University of Massachusetts Boston, Boston University, Boston College, Northeastern, Babson College, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Olin College of Engineering, Emmanuel College and Bentley College. We expect to draw students and faculty from all of these colleges to participate in BURS. Additionally, we are working to contact other colleges in the Boston area to make for a truly Boston-wide undergraduate research symposium.
What?
BURS will feature:
- 1 poster session with 300 undergraduate researchers
- 8 plenary talks by undergraduates selected by an intercollegiate, interdisciplinary faculty panel
- 3 keynote addresses delivered by prominent researchers
- Discussion tables with prominent faculty drawn from colleges and universities all over Boston
